It’s a small number, isn't it? Especially when you consider the vibrant energy that Black culture pours into the Capital Region. A New Home for Legacy: Community Support in Motion

If you’ve driven down Washington Ave lately, you’ve probably noticed the historic building at number 141. It’s the former University Club: a stately, Colonial Revival-style structure that was once a space where Black faces were rarely seen.

Today, spaces like this remind us what’s possible when a city makes room for Black entrepreneurship to be seen, supported, and sustained.

I started Indulge In A Scent because I needed a way to breathe. As a Black woman juggling the weight of the world, I realized that we often forget to claim our own peace.

We are a Black woman-owned small business right here in Albany, and we take our craft seriously. When you buy one of our mood-boosting candles, you’re getting more than just a scent. You’re getting a premium coconut apricot wax blend.

We chose coconut apricot wax because it’s the height of luxury. It burns cleaner, stays fragrant longer, and is far superior to standard soy wax. It’s our way of saying that you deserve the very best: not just "good enough."
