At Indulge In A Scent, your safety is our priority. To ensure a beautiful and safe experience with our hand-poured candles, please follow these guidelines:

1. General Safety Warnings

WARNING: TO PREVENT FIRE AND SERIOUS INJURY

    •    Burn within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

    •    Keep away from combustibles. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

    •    Keep away from children and pets. Store and burn candles out of reach of children and animals.

2. Prior to Lighting

    •    Trim the Wick: Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before every burn. This prevents smoking and ensures an even burn.

    •    Check the Surroundings: Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, open windows, ceiling fans, and flammable objects (like curtains or books).

3. During the Burn

    •    Never Leave Unattended: Always keep an eye on your candle. Extinguish it before leaving the room or going to sleep.

    •    Avoid Drafts: Drafts can cause uneven burning, smoking, or even cause the flame to flare up.

    •    Burn Time: Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

    •    Keep Away: Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

    •    Don’t Touch: Never touch or move a burning candle or one where the wax is still liquid.

4. Extinguishing the Flame

    •    Use a Snuffer: We recommend using a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle to prevent wax from splattering.

    •    Check the Flame: Ensure the flame is completely out and the wick is no longer glowing before leaving the candle.

    •    Safety Margin: Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains in the bottom of the jar. Burning past this point can cause the glass to overheat and crack.

5. Product End-of-Life

    •    Discontinue Use: Stop burning the candle when only 1/2 inch (1.27cm) of wax remains in the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point increases the risk of the glass overheating and breaking.

    •    Vessel Upcycling: Once the candle is finished, the vessel may be cleaned and repurposed for non-food use.
